Home Remedies For Puffy Eyes

One of the vital organs in our body is our eye. Vision is one of the most precious senses. Can you imagine what wretched world this would be without sense of vision? So, now you know how much more we have to do to protect our eyes from harm. Make sure that each day we consume the recommended levels of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients to keep our eyes healthy.

Puffy eyes can be caused by a number of factors, including Liquid Retention, Age, Lack of Sleep and Genetics. They can even be caused by such trivial (and easily remedied) problems such as a bad sleeping position or uncomfortable pillow.

Puffy eyes (swollen peepers) can happen because of several factors. The skin around the eyes is weak and sensitive and full of blood vessels. The usual puffy eyes that we all at some time may have suffered due to lack of sleep or crying disappear over time after we treat them to bring the puffiness down.

In a nutshell, puffy under eye bags develop as a result of fluid build-up around the eyes. When there’s poor drainage in the area, and capillaries become very fragile, fluid accumulates right under the eyes. And since skin firmness and elasticity decreases as you get older, the skin around your eyes (which is already the thinnest areas of skin on your body) becomes easily manipulated by this fluid.

Eyes with bags under them run in the family. Fluid retention in the body due to any reason, such as hormonal problems or allergies, can cause puffy eyes. The other causes include Blepharitis, eyelid edema, swollen eyelid, glaucoma, conjunctivitis, corneal ulcers and sinusitis.

Black Tea

Black Tea is an astringent with tannins that helps with puffy eyes. Make 2 cups of tea and place used bags in fridge. Once teabags are chilled, remove from fridge, lie down, close eyes, and place one tea bag over each eye. Keep on for 10 to 20 minutes.

Cucumber. This is perhaps the best-known remedy, known by supermodels as a sure-fire and super-quick way to reduce puffiness right before a photo-shoot. The cucumber’s contracting qualities cause your blood vessels to constrict, quickly and dramatically reducing puffy eyes.

Cold water rinse. My personal experience with this one is amazing. On workday mornings when you just have a few minutes to get ready, you have no time to luxuriate with potatoes and cucumber slices, but don’t despair. Cold water works in seconds!

Reduce eye puffiness and maintain clear, moist skin by altering your diet to include foods full of natural vitamins such as the vitamins A, C & E.

Natural remedy for puffy eyes using lavender or rose water: one drop each of essential oils of lavender or rose water and lemon to 1 teaspoon of boiled water used to bathe the eyes externally reduces puffy eyes.

Never sleep wearing eye make-up. Regardless of how tired you may be, always use an eye make-up remover and continue until the cotton ball or pad shows no signs of make-up. Use a cotton pad rather than a tissue because it is less irritating. Removing eye make-up will prevent it from entering the eyelid and causing irritation.

Seven Reasons Why Natural Health Remedies are Regaining Their Previous Popularity

Natural health is enjoying a huge increase in popularity, at the moment. Why do you think this is? Here are a few of my thoughts.

  1. Natural health takes into consideration the whole person. After all, your mind and your little toe are all important aspects of you. (Main stream health care isolates parts of the body, as if they aren’t connected.)
  2. Natural health works on very basic and universal laws, which are violated at your peril! This means everything is considered important including your diet, your stress levels, your living conditions, your self-confidence, your exposure to harmful substances, your lack of exposure to healthy conditions, the physical or emotional traumas you have had.
  3. Your body is constantly trying to keep you as healthy as possible. Natural health remedies work by supporting your body in this aim, rather than opposing your body as happens with pharmaceutical drugs.
  4. Natural health remedies give you the power to heal yourself – you are always in charge. (Compare that with the medical point of view that the doctor is in charge of your health.)
  5. There are no side effects when using natural health remedies. We’ve all heard of people who have experienced worse symptoms from the side effects of drugs, than that of the original complaint.
  6. You can often prescribe yourself natural health supplements – you don’t need expert advice.
  7. Natural health remedies are timeless because they work within universal laws. They will never be dated. New ones may become available. But they will never drop out of popularity because of their ineffectiveness. Rather, as has happened, they are pushed out of popularity for that very reason – they are powerfully effective.

I love the concept that every part of our bodies are dependant on each other, all parts make up the whole – from your emotions, to your physical aches.

And to take it further, that every person is part of the whole planet. So by improving your health naturally, you’re contributing to a healthier planet.

I also love the idea that you are in charge of your health. No one can do anything for you (or to you for that matter) without your permission. Taking control of your own health naturally, is a rewarding journey.

Natural health can be anything from massaging a sore muscle to working on your negative thoughts, and everything in between. The important thing to remember is that you matter, you have control. You’re in the driver’s seat as far as your health is concerned.

Natural health remedies are normally in the form of homeopathic, herbal, flower, colour or ‘energy’ remedies. You normally take them orally, but sometimes you can just put them on your skin.

Typically the results that you obtain from them is subtle. Negativity or ailments tend to melt away without any song and dance. So much so that you can think they’re not working. It’s only by diligently recording all your issues prior to starting your treatment, that you’ll know if you’re making any headway. An industrious practitioner will always take copious notes of your current ailments.

My preference within the natural health remedies available lie with homeopathic remedies. From experience, I’ve learned how powerful they are. They can go back a lifetime, to the traumas you suffered as an infant, even in utero, whatever age you are now. These traumas all have an impact on who you are now and the type of ailments you’re suffering. By addressing these issues, you can drop those burdens you’ve been carrying.

Home Remedies For Bedwetting, Bedwetting Remedies, Natural Remedies For Bedwetting

Bedwetting (Enuresis) is the involuntary passage of urine during sleep and is a very common problem among children. At least one out of ten kids below the age of 6-years has this problem, but the good news is the ratio of kids’ bedwetting goes down as they grow older. Only one out 20 is affected up to the age of 10, though there are infrequent cases of bedwetting by youths as old as 18. Only 1% of the children carry this problem to the age of 18. Bedwetting is also commonly known as night-time enuresis. It can be a very annoying and upsetting problem both for children and parents. Most children would stop bedwetting on their own if they could, but generally need the help of their parents and even doctor. It’s significant to approach the situation coolly, keeping in mind what is developmentally suitable for your child’s age, as well as ruling out any medical causes for bedwetting.

The main cause of bedwetting is a condition known as “nocturnal enuresis”. It affects boys more than girls by a 3 to 1 ratio. The cause of this condition is falling into an abnormal deep sleep pattern that stops children from responding to the bladder’s signal. Recent studies have shown that 15% of children have problems with bedwetting past the age of three. According to the National Kidney Foundation, more than 5 million sufferers continue to bed wet past the age of six years old. To overcome the psychological effects of bed wetting, parents and children need to realize that bedwetting is not something to feel guilty about. It is common phenomenon among all children. The habit of bedwetting creates uneasy situations for parents, which all too often eventually leads to punishing children when they wet the bed. This makes the child feel guiltier, more ashamed and more embarrassed, and may even retard his growth.

The condition that causes bedwetting is often hereditary. If someone else in the family was a bed-wetter, letting you child know about this will go a long way to help them feel comforted and supported. There are children’s books about bedwetting available. Reading some of these books with your child will help him or her realize that their condition is common and that there is nothing wrong with them. When it becomes hard to keep your child away from certain foods that may trigger their bedwetting, you might want to consider using a variety of behavioral techniques to encourage a better response. For children over the age of seven, a bedwetting alarm may be used. It has been known to produce positive results in a relatively high percentage of children. In younger kids, a reward system for keeping the bed dry may work, which encourages your child to avoid the foods that may trigger bedwetting. As the child gets older, when they are told to change their own wet bed sheets, they might try extra hard to avoid this chore by any means necessary.

Try using a prize chart with children who are old enough to know the difference between reward and punishment. Choose small but significant rewards that can be earned after a certain number of dry mornings. Start with a very low threshold for success, perhaps two dry mornings out of seven, and build your way slowly up as he becomes more triumphant.

Remedies of Corns

Corns are a common example of avoidable foot pain. Corns often occur on the top of the toes where there is pressure from the shoes. Corns, also called helomas, are thickened areas of skin that form in response to excessive pressure and friction. They form to protect the skin and the structures beneath it from damage or injury. Corns are usually hard and circular, with a waxy or translucent center. They may become painful or ulcerated in response to persistent friction. Certain corns may become entwined with the nerves of the skin, these corns are particularly painful. Corns can be very painful, especially if there is inflammation and swelling around the corn. There are two types of corns. Hard corns (heloma durums) are the most common type. Corns and calluses are more likely to develop in people who have very prominent bony toes, thin skin, or deformities of the toes or feet which cause the skin to rub more easily inside shoes.

Foot corn treatment can generally be implemented with over the counter medications. Treatment should begin immediately when the corn appears.A foot corn is an area of thickened skin that occurs in areas of pressure. In the foot, the skin will thicken up to protect itself when the areas of high pressure have not been eliminated. Eventually, you will experience a great deal of pain in the foot at the area of the corn. These bumps appear as a thickening on the top of your toes. Hard corns are normally located on the outer surface of the little toe or can also be found on the surface of other toes. Foot corns can often appear in between the toes.

Corns appear like small rough mounds containing firm dead skin that grows between the toes. It has a hard waxy core that extends down, presses the tissues and nerves under it, and thus causes pain. Sometimes the corns affect the bursae – fluid-filled sacs that cushion the juncture of two or more bones, causing irritation and results in bursitis.

There are two types of corns – soft corns and hard corns. Most common type of corns is hard corn. These are usually caused due to toe deformities and ill-fitting shoes. Usually such corns develop on the top and tips of the toes and on the side of the feet. On the other hand, soft corns also known as heloma molles are usually caused by abnormalities in toes. Sometimes it is also referred as kissing corns.

Bunions are painful, swollen pads overlying the joint at the base of the big toe. They begin as an inflammation of the joint, which swells so that the overlying skin becomes red, hard, and sore. If left untreated, the ligaments in the toes shorten, pushing them together in what often becomes a permanent deformity. Bunions are caused by wearing ill-fitting shoes, but they can be hereditary.

Corns are painful wedges of hard skin that result from excess pressure on the surface of the skin of the toes or the soles of the feet. Corns are usually caused by wearing ill-fitting shoes, but may also occur when shoes are worn without socks. They are most common in people with high arches, because the arch increases the pressure on the toes when walking.

The options for treatment are either to change your shoe style or take off the pressure from your corns, so that they will improve and go away on their own, or continue to perform constant maintenance on your existing and new corns.Corn pads can be purchased from your local drug store and will provide padding for extra comfort. As they take up extra space be sure to wear roomier shoes to accommodate when wearing the pads.

Some foot specialist disagree as to whether to apply salicylic ointment or drops (also known as corn drops) available from the drug store, to your corns. On the one hand the drops can help remove the skin, but if any acid runs off onto the surrounding skin, it can burn and even cause a hole or ulcer to form. The drops can be applied to the center of the corn pad, but if using please do so with care.

Corns can usually be easily seen. They may have a tender spot in the middle, surrounded by yellowish dead skin. Treatment of corn use a pumice stone. Applying lanolin-enriched lotion to help the skin become soft around the corn can also be an option. Wearing a donut-shaped foam pad over the corn will also help relieve the pressure. Use non-medicated corn pads; medicated pads may increase irritation and result in infection. Treating foot corns by using removing ointments that contain acid can damage healthy skin on the other areas of the foot.

Proper foot hygiene and the use of emollients to keep the skin in good condition. Use silicone pads to alleviate pain and the occurrence of a corn Use a foot cream, such as flexitol heel balm twice daily. In some cases, surgery is performed to treat soft corns.Wear shoes that fit properly and have a roomy toe area. Try to shop for shoes in the afternoon – that’s when your feet are their largest.

Corns Treatment Tips

1. Use of padding to prevent the pressure.

2. Avoid tight shoes and hosiery.

3. Use a pumice stone to reduce the thickness of the corn.

4. Do not use corn plasters as they can lead to destruction of healthy skin.

5. Wearing a donut-shaped foam pad over the corn will also help relieve the pressure.

6. Surgery is performed to treat soft corns.

7. Applying lanolin-enriched lotion to help the skin become soft around the corn can also be an option.

8. Wear comfortable shoes. Wear shoes that do not cramp your toes.

It is an extremely unavoidable condition unless you are proactive to prevent them in the first place. There are various treatments to get rid of them but once the marks start darkening it becomes more difficult to remove them.

The best way to get rid of stretch mark is to prevent it. This can be done by massaging and exfoliating your skin form the second trimester onwards. As the unborn baby starts taking nutrition from your body, you need to keep replenishing them regularly. Even though there are times when people are going to get stretch marks you should still try to avoid this area if at all possible. In most people’s cases you just cannot avoid them.

We need to completely understand why we get stretch marks first before we go trying to get rid of them. The marks happen when a person goes through changes with their body. Hormones can also cause stretch marks. This marks are mostly known by people as something you get when you either get pregnant or you lift weights. Because both of these situations is where the body changes quickly and does not have the time to stretch like it should. If a person uses drugs that cause you to gain weight or that may cause hormonal imbalances continually then that in return can cause stretch marks to become deeper and bigger. I am one of these women and fortunately, I have found twenty various ways on to erase those stretch marks. Tummy tuck is one of the most common ways to address stretchmarks. At first, this option made me think, “In these times of economic crises, would anyone have the resources to spend on this plastic surgery procedure?”I’m definitely sure that insurance companies are not willing to support medical procedures this costly. Not only is this stretchmark erasure method expensive, it is also invasive and painful! The pain extends beyond the actual operation period, and you need to wait for more than a week for the pain to be alleviated and for the wound to heal.

Stretch mark removal products, which poses a cheaper option that tummy tuck, are available in the market today. One of the most popular products is Strivectin. The disadvantage of this known brand is that there are no free trials available, and you will need to shell out some dollars just to see if it works for you. I would not continue purchasing this product if you do not see any improvement after a few applications.Stretch marks… I’m pretty sure you’re not here to find out what stretchmarks are. Who cares, right? What we DO care about is how to get rid of them Well there is good news and there is bad news. Technically, once these little lines have hit your thighs or stomach or elsewhere, you cannot get rid of them. That’s the sad reality. Stretch mark removal can be difficult.

There are dozens and dozens of products on the market today that would have you believe that you can in fact get rid of them altogether. It is marketing hype, and nothing less than that.Consider this: At some point in time, we have all engaged in a conversation with friends or mates as to how we acquired various scars. It might be one on your arm, many people seem to wind up with small ones on their chin for some reason (strange but true!), it could be from having a broken limb… however we got it, most of us have a scar or two with its own story to tell. Over time most of our scars have vastly diminished in appearance, but they are still there. Scarring, for the most part, is permanent.

Home Remedies For Cracked Heels

Cracked Heels

Without doubt, your feet are the most active part of your body, even more than your hands. In fact most of the time they are definitely overworked. Especially in today’s day and age, the big metros are so widespread that one has to cover long distances to get from one place to the next be it for job or other work. Therefore it is very much essential that one must take extra care of their feet in order to avoid having foot problems.

Cracking and fissures in the skin of the heels and the balls of the feet can be painful, especially for heavy individuals who place more pressure on these parts. As with any open skin lesion, a fissure leaves the region susceptible to bacteria. Foot infections can be very serious because bacteria tend to multiply rapidly and travel deep into the foot quickly because of the continuous pressure. They are often hard to heal because the wound is surrounded by calloused skin.

Tips to Avoid Cracked Heels:

# Do not expose your feet to extreme climate i.e., extreme cold or extreme heat.

# Wash feet daily in lukewarm water, blot dry without rubbing and apply a urea-based cream.

-If your heels are very dry, use a pumice stone to slough off dry skin, cover feet with petroleum jelly and put a pair of socks before going to bed.

- Pedicure your feet more often.

- Use hot-cold water technique. Dip your feet in hot water and then after five minutes dip it in cold water. Do this for 20 minutes. This method improves the blood circulation.
